How a Bear Dies

how-a-bear-diesH-1400x788.png

How A Bear Dies is the heartfelt story of a backcountry butcher who longs for the respect and admiration of his community. His dream is to host a legendary dinner party where the main course is a testament to his skills— butchered and prepared entirely by him, and harvested from his woods, using a bow he’s crafted himself. Trouble is, he’s never hunted a day in his life, and building a reliable bow is not as easy as it seems.

This poignant and thrilling narrative has garnered accolades, including honours from the 20th Annual NOWW Awards and the Oregon Writers Colony Awards. It has been featured in Type A Media's "Isolated Together" anthology and received support from the Ontario Arts Council.

Immerse yourself in this tale of courage, craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of respect and recognition in the face of overwhelming odds.
